A couple of weeks ago I opened a competition to win a free 4-day pass for RootsTech 2020 in Salt Lake City. RootsTech is the biggest genealogy event in the world, with tens of thousands attendees from more than 40 countries.
RootsTech gives ambassadors the opportunity to give away a free 4-day pass for this amazing event. Because I am not only a speaker but also an ambassador, I too could give away a free pass. People could enter the competition until midnight Christmas Eve.
Yesterday, on the first day of Christmas my foster son picked one ballot. The name on this ballot would be the winner of the free RootsTech pass. I contacted the winner and can now announce that she has accepted this wonderful prize.
The winner of my free RootsTech pass is… Lori Collins of Thornton, Colorado. She is the Past President of the Colorado Genealogical Society / Computer Interest Group. She went to the first RootsTech edition ten years ago and now she gets the opportunity to attend the tenth edition! When I asked her why she would like to go, she said:
“I love RootsTech for all the classes they have. They have so many topics and you learn new ways to research and you get to see the new products that can help you achieve the results that you are looking for.”
And she said: “I love to learn new things and find new friends.” Now, that is something I second with whole my heart!
Congratulations to Lori, I am looking forward to meeting you in person in Salt Lake City!
To all the other persons who entered my competition, I can say: take a look at Conference Keeper for more – ongoing – RootsTech competitions.
